Linux vs windows anti-virus....safest?

Well... it all comes down to how well configured your operating system is, but if we compare Windows vs Linux directly, without a doubt Linux is far more secure and you don't need to bother about Linux viruses or trojans, at least that's how it is at the present, in the future, I don't know.

If you plan to visit "dangerous sites", I could also recommend using anonymous IP to protect yourself from possible spammers looking up your IP, something like that would affect Linux as much as Windows.
