How does and would a 8800gts run 1080p?

I will be putting together my new build soon, which follows as this:
antec 900
antec true power trio 550w
e6420 cooled by a thermalright ultra 120 w/ a scythe s-flex 120 fan
p965 ds3 rev. 3.3
Samsung 500g sata
two optical drives sata
and 2x1 gig g.skill ram ddr2 800

I definitely want to go with a 8800gts but my question is, will i be able to use it with a 1080p tv screen through a dvi-hdmi cable. Will my pc display at 1080p resolution on the tv so it will look crystal clear?
