More about vista 64bit gigs memory idle
  1. It sure looks like BitDefender is running wild. Shut it down and try another security suite for a while - if you don't want to buy another than just use AVG free until you sort this out.

If that does not solve your problem then let us know.
  2. removed bit defender and added avg, looks allot better now, gonna keep watching tx

  3. Always check to make sure you're running the latest version of your malware suite(s). Just because they update the virus definitions on their own doesn't mean they update the main program. If you've paid for BitDefender, I'd check their website to make sure you're running the latest version of the program. Anti-virus programs can be especially problematic under 64-bit Windows... some of them just don't work the way they should right out of the box.
  4. I dl'd the 30 day free trial,

using avg now and everything seems allot better
  5. For the memory, that normal. Vista will use it for caching and release it when apps need it. It a very efficient use of memory.
  6. tx for that info loneeagle, I didnt know vista did that
