Best backup appz using server host?

hello all,

i am looking for a good but affordable backup software for my local computer that will upload to my server host. free is good but . . .

also are there any backup appz out there that will backup my web site to my local machine? would the host have to approve it?

you know i have often wondered how business offer backing up your local machine for $50 to $100 per year when you can get a hosting service for $5.00 per month that can also do other stuff for you, i.e. web site, ftp, etc.! i do understand that's more complex, etc.
