Hi

Can anyone help?? i'm being promted by automatic updates to install SP3 (service pack 3) on my system, i'm currently running on SP2 and happy with it. By installing SP3 over SP2 would this change the configuration of my OS somewhat?? or substantially is the not much difference between SP2 an SP3??

Cheers

not much difference, most have seen a speed increase with SP3, others have had some trouble, really you should be fine as-long as your machine is clean, and by clean i mean no viruses, spyware, adware.

hello music mad, i upgraded from sp2 to sp3 and i would recomend it, its said that it has a 10% speed boost over sp2, wether that is 100% true im not sure, but i would upgrade to sp3. it doesnt hurt to be up to date :) but if your happt with with sp2 then you can keep it, i have had zero problems andwhat flakes said if your pc is clean then you should be fine.

So if i choose to install SP3 over SP2 would i have to change any configuration settings for the new pack?? or is it just a straight automatic install without any modifications??

Just install it through windows update. Nothing else to do other than a reboot when its done.
