What could be wrong if my writer stops playing movies in Ubuntu OS.

We're going to need a bit more information to help you out.

Are you trying to play DVDs? Blu-rays? VCDs? other?

Do you mean that it played movies at one point in time but no longer even attempts to play them, or it will begin playing movies currently but stops part-way through?

What version of Ubuntu?

What are you using as playback software?

What burner do you have?
