I'm having trouble logging into a network storage device on my network that requires a username and password. I can login to this device using any XP system. But for some strange reason, Vista will not allow it. I'm using the same credentials (username/password) for both machines. I even have a virtual machine running XP on my Vista system, and the link works there. Any suggestions? I'm fairly fresh to Vista. Thanks for any and all help!
Well I figured this one out on my own. I couldn't find anything on the web about this, so I figured I'd answer my own question in hopes of helping anyone else out that bumps into this problem. Here's what I did to fix it:
Go into Control Panel and click on "User Accounts"
In "User Accounts", click on "Manage your network passwords"
Add the required login info and connect to the network device.
It did seem to take a few minutes to initially connect. I thought it locked up a couple times. But after letting it sit for a short period, it connected, and hasn't missed a beat since. I hope this helps anyone in a pinch out.
