What error show you?, download ffdshow, this is a complet codecs libraries. Install this and try again

If that doesn't work download and install the VLC player. It very rarely has a problem playing video of almost any format.

^Is windows, always have a problem...and VLC is good too.

I use an xvid codec pack that plays just about everything through Windows media, and VLC for what it gets stuck on.
