whats better overclocker

q6600 or e6600 because id like to go quad core on the price drop but idk if it will overclock good. also the quad would be much hotter so could a overclocked e6600 perform better than q6600

Yeah, I have actually seen some E6850 ES procs get 3.8 on 1.38v! Granted its an ES, but that is impressive! Also, that proc idled at 34C on 1.6v! Nice! Anyway, as stated above, the bin on recent 6600s sucks. The E6420 has been great recently and is a sound bet.

i think he means when oc'd to 3.8 it ran stable on 1.38, and when iding , if you had the vcore at 1.6 it would only get to 34oC because of it being more heat efficient now.

The 1.6v was when it was running 4.1. Sorry... Forgot to mention that...
