I am considering adding the Sat C Kit to my Dual LNB Oval Dish for the
additional HD programming on DirecTV. DirecTV said they would send the
dish to me free plus an $8 shipping fee. From the look of the
instructions it looks pretty easy. Install it and set the receiver to
use 3 LNB's instead of two. No adjusting the dish is necessary.
Piece of cake. A screw and a couple of cable hook-ups. The most
difficult thing is likely to be simply getting to the dish, depending
on where it's mounted. I put mine on the railing of my back deck, so I
can work on it without ladders or anything.
There's a piece of plastic covering the gap in the LNB control arm where
the Sat C LNB will go. If I remember correctly, you have to temporarily
loosen one of the existing LNBs in order to get that out. Not a big
deal--the LNBs don't require delicate alignment. They're held in the
correct position by the mounting screw.
The Sat C kit DirecTV sent me was missing the mounting screw. I just
went to the hardware store and got one of the right length and diameter
and secured it with a regular hex nut. Worked fine.

You are going to find that the toughest part of the install
is feeding the cable thru the arm. Everything else is a
piece of cake.

I soldered an F+ barrel connector to a 2ft piece of stiff wire. That made
the job easy

If you stay less than a year with DirecTV, they will charge you 60 bucks for
the Sat C-kit.
