I haven't seen this issue raised before, and it is mildly perplexing.

New computer build, ASUS P6T and Vista 64. After two weeks, I was surprised to see my computer internal clock has lost about 5 minutes. Checking the date/time adjust screen, it was not going to update via the internet for another week. To be honest, I don't know this feature existed before in Windows.

So, I had it synchronize today. So, it is now on time again, but the next scheduled time for synching up via the internet is January 11th.

As it appears my motherboard has a very loose clock accuracy, I would like to change the synch schedule to once per day, not once per week. Is this adjustable? I have not found where I can do that.

Thx

I did a search in the registry and found this key:

The solution require modifying the registry. Use at your own risk.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\W32Time\Config

They is a key "UpdateInterval" with a value of 360000 decimal.
You could reduce that value, reboot and see when the next synch.

Found it!

You were close, though, and starting me poking around. Then I found this reference, to the SpecialPollInterval variable.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient\

By default, it is set for a week. I changed mine to a day.

I edited mine by changing the number of seconds between updates. Rebooted, and it now shows a daily update from internet time.

Thx, loneeagle. You started me looking.

1 Minute 60 seconds
1 Hour 3600 sec
1 Day 86400 sec
1 Week 604800 sec
