I am not asking if it is legal, ethical or moral to install Vista on a 2nd computer and both computers work properly after installation, I am asking if this is something a person can physically do?

And if both computers turned OFF the Vista function to search for service pack and other upgrades wouldn't this deny Microsoft's ability to know how many copies of your OS is installed?

I've seen this question asked a lot but people seem to be answering from the standpoint other whether it's ethical or moral to do it. I'm obviously just plain asking if it's possible to do it.

Thanks

No, since the second copy would need to activate which would fail since the first one is already activated.

With XP I activated 3 computers from one copy of XP, how is VISTA any different than these steps?
I even activated XP on those 3 different machines on 3 different weeks.

You got lucky or used a pirated copy of XP.

nO, What I did was Purchase XP Home, installed it on my comp and then installed it on my parents comp and other relatives comp. We even installed these on different days and got all the upgrades at diff time. The key was turning OFF automatic updates and we did for about 2 years and the machines never ever failed for any reason.

Suddenly this can;'t also be done on VISTA? Did gates invent some new technology no one knows about yet?

I find a lot of paying saying you can't as in you can't because it's against the law, or it's wrong unethical immoral etc...all I wanted to know was is it possible to install vista to more than one comp using only one OEM disc?

Well since the legality part is no issue for you at all, do what you intend to do anyway and let us know how it goes. OK

Why are you asking if it can be done?

Just do it!

No, you don't understand. It's not me asking so that I can break the law or do something unethical. I wasn't even asking for step-by-step instructions. I was just interested in if people have installed Vista single CD to multiple computers without any issues?

I've searched dozens, perhaps hundreds?, of forums and they all discuss the legality and ethics of making multiple installs of Vista while hardly no one has an example of someone who has done it or what was a side effect if any of doing so.

This is just a quest I fear no one will allow me to finish :-(
