i just bought my growing kids their own computer but i want to monitor their activities so they wouldn't be involved in any wrong things on the net.... i've searched a little and found a software called a keylogger so i was wondering what's the best keylogger in there that's :
1. easy to use
2. easy to configure
3. can determine what applications they used when they type a certain word
and can you give me a tutorial for that software thanks guys :D

I'm not a big advocate of keylogging / pc monitoring utilities, as they are a form of spying.

I do agree that extra care is needed when little ones are exposed to the big wide world that is the web.

I have to get on my soapbox for a second though and remind you of the trust relationship with the little ones you are putting at risk if they discover that they are being monitored. It is important to have a contingency plan if this happens, so they understand it was in their best interest.

Before I point you to a trusted download source, I have to warn you that any security application worth its salt [b]will[\b] detect and warn any pc user of any spying / monitoring software presence. You will need to configure your security apps that the software is trusted and review the settings often to be sure any updates don't reset the configuration. Security software i.e. Antivirus, antispyware, antimalware applications are designed to detect hidden monitoring and reporting processes, this is what they are designed to do, there will be no software that will remain undetected. Is the risk of discovery the gamble?

The reviews offer excellent insight into the programs ease of use and abilities. User reviews are also in helping to ascertain which software might be ideal.

On a last note, there are other ways to keep children safe on the net.

1. Create their own password protected user profiles with log on / log off time restrictions.
2. Have the pc in a family room. It is easy to glance over their shoulder to see that what they are viewing is appropriate.
3. Use a custom hosts file to restrict site access.
4. And most of all, form a trust relationship, so that they know they can come to you if they are at all uncertain about anything that is happening online with them or even their friends.
