Hi all...
Ready for the big upgrade - was gona go out and buy an ASUS P5K Deluxe and an E6600. But now I see that in July I can get a Q6600 for the same price as I'd pay for an E6600. But wait ...
In Q3 (Jul-Sept) Intel will release the X38 chipset - PCIe 2 (double the speed, 2x16 lanes), 1333Mhz and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. I'll need an extra heavy duty PSU though! I want to run an 8800GTX - but when PCIe 2 comes out I'm sure there will be a GPU that takes full advantage of the extra bandwith.
I'm into gaming and home recording - I just want the thing to last as long as possible (hmmm - 5 mins?) - so what do you all think?
Cheers
