I've done a clean install of a new OEM copy of XP Pro on a new computer build. Everything seems to work fine except that when I tried to open the Help and Support center fromt the Start menu, nothing happens.
I click on Help and Support, and nothing.
I've tried many different fixes from both the Microsoft Knowledge base and through Google searches, and nothing seems to work. I've done a couple of repair reinstalls of the OS, I've reinstalled the helpctr.inf file several times and checked to make sure all the required services are started and running. I've also checked the registry entries and all seem to be correct, but it just won't start.
I was going to set a restore point, and I've been able to do that through another method, but nothing I do seems to be able to get the Help and Support center to open.
