No sound from the pop-up notification when I close a file after making changes.

When I change a file and then close it I get no sound when the pop up ask if i want to make changes. I tried different things in control panel under "sounds" but was unable to fix this? I assigned a sound to "menu-pop up" and "close program" but when, for instance, I open a note pad document, change a letter and close it a window opens asking me if I want to save changes but I still don't here a sound like I do in XP?

Can some one at least tell me if they have notepad open and make a change and then close notepad do they hear a sound when prompted to save changes? I do in XP but not Windows 7.
