From everything that I've read Vista 32 bit will only run 4 gigs of ram. I already had 4 gigs of ram installed and decided to throw in an extra two because I just happened to have some laying around. To my surprise windows recognized it! Is there any way to find out if windows is actually using this ram or not?
Vista 32 reports the installed amount by default - This was a change made in SP1 at the request/insistence of hardware OEMS who didn't want their support lines clogged with customers who ordered 4GB of RAM and foudn the OS can only use 3.25~ish - You have to look at the management console or task manager to see the actuals.
------------------------------Which Chip? Well, it depends on which set of thieving b@stardz you choose to support: The ones who use insider trading to enrich themselves while running their company into the ground? Or the ones who illegally pay vendors to not support the first group?
