I installed vista 64-bit with 2GB RAM and it works great. But if I install another 2GB of ram, Vista won't start, it just falls over before it loads. However, if I remove any of the two RAM sticks, Vista starts fine, so I don't think the memory sticks are the problem.
I tried installing the RAM in both the red slots too, which I supposed to be dual channel mode, but that doesn't work.
Could it be the RAM voltage?
Are there any further tweaks I need to make to the system?
Maybe Vista needs all its service packs? What does everyone think? I've just been reading about a problem lots of people are having with 4gb RAM. Someone installed their service packs first, then it worked just fine. Maybe it's not the Ram because it boots up no problem, but when it comes to loading vista it's a different story all together.
I'm currently using the OEM version which I don't think comes with any service packs, so I take it that's the original vista from ages ago, so it is bound to have problems?
