How to can I check if my XP OS is a 32bit or 64bit?

I have a Dell Dimension E 510

It's almost certainly 32-bit. Check for the existence of the folder C:\Program Files (x86). If that's there it's 64-bit, if not it's 32-bit.

Unless you specifically request 64-bit Windows XP when you order your PC, it will be 32-bit XP. Win XP x64 was an option... it never came standard from any OEM.
