Reformatting with a .iso on a USB drive

I got a nasty virus on my laptop, (Dell Ispiron 910 / Mini). I tried various anti-virus programs with no success. I need to reformat using a USB drive, as I have no CD drive on my computer, so I want to reformat with an .iso file on a USB drive. I've tried to search for how to reformat using a USB drive and ISO file, but couldn't find out how. If anyone could explain how, it would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you use Dell System Recovery by hitting Ctrl F11 after the Dell BIOS splash screen?

You will need to use a Bootable USB tool.

It's free. In the BIOS, you should be able to set the USB device as the boot device or it should be listed as an HD and selecting it should boot to it.
