8800 GTS Not Supporting All Resolutions?

Does the 8800 GTS not support anything between 1024x768 and 1600x1200? After installing everything, most resolutions were missing. I had to uncheck the "hide unsupported modes" box to even get widescreen resolutions available. Nothing over 60Hz appears. Did I forget to install something, or does the card just not support the middle range of resolutions?

I can rule out the monitor. It is a Samsung 225BW, widescreen LCD. Running on the previous computer with an ATI 9700 it displayed all resolutions. Only when switching to this card/computer did the resolutions go away.

Maybe the card or drivers don't recognize your monitor properly. Try reinstalling monitor drivers via control panel. The card should be able to handle all resolutions as far as i know. It's not a low-end part :p

I'm running a 225bw and I've used it on xp and vista with several different drivers. I have always been able to choose several different resolutions below and inc. 1680*1050. I've never installed the software that came with the monitor or the software that windows offers with the automatic updates.

You may want to make sure you fully uninstalled you're old drivers and try reinstalling the Nvidia drivers.

Uninstallation of ATI drivers also ruled out. It's a freshly built computer. The monitor just came from an ATI system to this one.

Well my 8800GTS work fine @ 1280X1024 on my Viewsonic VX715 LCD monitor. I recommend downloading the latest drivers from both NVidia and the manufacturer of your LCD and uninstall the current ones. Then reboot into safe mode and install the new ones. It might fix it for you.
