Hi guys.

I'm sort of new to this forum, but i'll try.

So, i've just built a new computer about a week ago, it worked fine, until i clicked the stand-by button. The computer has since then acted very weird. Here are some of the problems:

No "beep" sound comes up when i start.

Monitor just stays stand-by and says: "No signal detected!"

USB devices won't turn on.

Computer starts up for 5 seconds, turns off for 5 seconds, and then finally it turns on.

I've tried everything, plugging everything off and on, switching RAM, plug the monitor to another computer (And it works..).

Here are my pc specs:

Asus p5ql pro
Core 2 duo e8400 @ 3ghz
4gb kingston hyperx ddr2 @800 mhz
Inno3d gtx 260
500 gb hdd
HP dvd writer
Corsair 750 w power supply
Benq 22" monitor
Vista home basic 32 bit

Please, PLEASE, tell me if you know what is going on with my computer.. It's very frustrating..

Reset the CMOS jumper and default the BIOS. Unplug the PSU when you reset the jumper. Instructions in MB manual.

EDIT: Forgot to mention to remove the battery when you reset the jumper.

I've tried that, now i only need to get the signals to my monitor.. When is start my computer up, the monitor just stays black, and goes "No signal detected !"

motherboards can sometimes behave in a way like this, usually after a crash or a failed start, whatever the reasons are unclear to me. If it does this for a few start ups and then goes away you can just write it off but of course if it does not go away you have a hardware issue - probably with the board itself, maybe with the PSU. A good general approach is to unplug the system from the wall and let it sit for an extended period and then cross your fingers and try again.

If you hear the motherboard make a beep at startup and your keyboard lights up you might also want to check the monitor but it sounds like a motherboard issue to me. Do you hear anything?

Nope, i dont hear any beep, i still have no signal, no nothing. I'll just let it sit for a while then.
