Perhaps, but it was with some sort of liquid nitrogen cooling system... and it was 3D mark 05, not 06 (Which chews up videocards and spits em back out with a 500 point rating).

I'll wait to see an article on "2900XT goes on massive sale", or "2900XT latest drivers deliver 100% performance increase, edges out GTX in at least two games for less, no overclocking!"

Sadly, the XT, for me, is a bit far away, both in cash, fitting in my case, and time... (Although, Futureshop is stocking them now), so far in fact that I might just wait for the next "refresh" of the cards in 65nm. So I don't have to buy a new PSU.

Lol, wow 30k eh? my score is like 18k with a single 8800GTX WITHOUT TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING. too bad the 2900XT still sucks in games....

take it as a grain of salt, maybe the 65nm versions will scale almost as much in speed.

Hahaha...I have a one year old 7900GT and I will not be getting a new card or other system parts for about four more years myself.

I just noticed the artical on the NYSE when I went to check the AMD stock and thought I would post it.

From may 12,2006:
Latest updates...still no reg code for some tests.

CPU @ 2.860Ghz
Ram @ 260Mhz (DDR520 1T)
Cheep 7900GT @ 561/885 (DDR 1.770Ghz)
LDT @ 3X
HTT/FSB @ 286
RAM ratio @ 9/10 (180
All volts @ stock

3DMark06 = 5635
3DMark05 = 9732
3DMark01 = 32802
Aquamark = 97469
I forgot to run 3DMark03.

Maximum Temps on air in a 22C room:
GFX = 41C
CPU = 28C
NF4 chipset = 37C
PWMIC = 30C

I had it running faster than that (2.95Ghz) which is not bad for a stock 2Ghz Optron that cost me $78 but lost the final scores.
