Im trying to help a friend out who's laptop needs a clean install. She has an Acer Travelmate 2200. It has a BIOS password so I cannot change the boot options and cant acess the boot menu. And of course it wont boot from the cd by default. So other than opening the laptop up and trying to find the CMOS battery and hope that resets the password is there anything I can do? Is there any software where I can make another partition and install XP while still in the other partition maybe? If I just format the hdd it will come up system disk error and still not let me boot from a cd right? Im not sure what to do from here. Any help would be appreciated.
