Hi all,
I know these questions maybe asked many times, but i really need your help :)
I have Q6600 cpu, 4Gb ram, Asus P5Q motherboard, ATI 4850, 2x500Gb SATAII hard disks
Now currently I am running vista 32bit
I need to know is it good choice to upgrade to vista 64bit ?
Mostly I use adobe CS4 products for web designing and some other softwares like Aptana, Also I like games and I play games too.
Can I have my current raid configuration for vista 64bit ?
Is it possible to test vista 64bit in another partition while i have vista 32bit ?
I will appreciate your help :)

Hello, im still new to all this myself but im not sure u can "test" 64bit in the separate partition due to the fact that you would have to download new chipsets and drivers for your bios and other programs which would mess with your 32bit set up. like i said i know very little about this stuff but thought i would throw that out there.

Yup. More RAM available, better use of Quads

Yup. RAID didnt disappear when Vista got released ;)

Yup, though you may see a few emulation probs when running 32bit / 64 bit OS's on some lesser developed applications

No because im a noob. But i do use it occasionally and have had no probs.

To explain - when i bought my PC I ordered the 32 bit version and already had it installed by the time i realised! Still kicking myself for it.
I plan to steal my Dads vista 64 bit and use my 32 bit key to authorise it - i have it on good authority that this works....and it saves me £70 :D

4GB is fine. The main advantage of Vista is it can address more RAM. 4GB is XP's limit, same for other 32 bit apps.

With Vista 64 you can use more than 4GB RAM and it is the main reason for most people upgrading.
