Hey all, just had the new pc for about a week (will post some pics on the weekend) and it is running really awful on these two games. Now these aren't really my favourite racing games but I was unpleasantly surprised how shite they ran, really jerky when there are a few cars on the screen.

I have an 8800gtx with e6700 (soon to be @ 3.33ghz and 4gb pc6400 ram on a 680i board and 2 raptors in raid 0.

I am running driver 158.42 and have the latest forceware also.

Is it just a crap pc port from the console, I am kinda leaning that way as it does not even support 1680x1050, had to run a hack for that. I also tested at 1600x1200 to make sure it isn't the hack, and it isn't.

So anyway anyone else have the same trouble with a similar setup. Apart from this game it is running absolutely awesome on all my other games.

Sorry for the long post :)

Cheers
Lazarus

The drivers for vista simply aren't good I guess, probably gotta wait for adequate performance

lol just checking. i assumed as much. basically there's no reason your system should stink at the games, and i would blame vista for it, because thats become my habit as of late: just saying, "its vista's fault." :D i kno thats real disappointing because there's nothing you can fix to make it better... but i think that that could be it.

there have been quite a lot of people complaining about problems with vista with 4GB of RAM, you could try pairing it down to 2GB to see if that helps

Carbon has issues running in Vista, as far as I can tell... my framerates are just fine, but I have to run it in Windows 98 Compatibility Mode and there's one turn in the Eskuri Plaza district that my system always crashes out on... and that's on an 8800GTS, so a GTX should be fine on its own, other than the fact that EA refuses to make Carbon work well in Vista.
