16 bit MS DOS subsystem Error. when i run AOL Instant messenger

I'm getting a 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem prompt the error states that "a temporary filed needed for initialization could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure that the directory path exists. Choose close to terminate application. I have confirmed the directory path exists. This is for a Vista Ultimate 32 machine

Vista does not support 16 bit programs. You will need to get a 32 bit version of IM.

Actually, I didn't have a problem wit this until recently. I used uniblue, registry booster to clean up my registry and after that my problems started popping up. Any idea?

looks like uniblue messed up your registry. did you try reinstalling AIM? that might fix the problem, if not, do a repair install of vista from the dvd.
