Hi, ive been running my minecraft server on a normal hdd with windows for a while now, but i want to reduce lagg, so i purchased a ssd for linux. I was wondering how to transfer the windows server files to linux??

Thanks!

Install Ubuntu or Fedora linux on the SSD. then mount your old HDD in linux and you can use the file manager Nautilus to copy the files over. Just install the Desktop version of ubuntu or fedora. you do not need to install the server one.

Ubuntu and Fedora are operating systems based on the Linux kernel. There are many operating systems that use the Linux kernel (sometimes these are called "Linux distros"). I recommend either Fedora 17 or Ubuntu 12.04.
