hello,

i'm trying to install the latest version of windows script on my PC.

this is the version i'm trying to install:

File Name: scripten.exe
Version: 5.7.0.16535
Date Published: 8/24/2007

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads [...] laylang=en


when i attempt to install, i get the following error message:

Quote :

windows script setup error

setup has detected that the service pack version of this system in newer than the update you are applying.

there is no need to install this update.




what's strange is that i downloaded version 5.6 from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads [...] jVhA%3d%3d


and it installed without the error message.


after i installed version 5.6, i tried to install 5.7 and it would not allow me. i got the same error message as before. why does my system think 5.7 is older than 5.6?


how do i install 5.7?
