Hello,

Hey, I am currently overclocking my processor to 2.5ghz. The stock speed is 2.0ghz.

I can run orthos all day long and am stable, but my question is concerning the temps.

So what is more important CPU temp or core temp? PC Wizard is telling me that my cpu temp under full load is aorund 57-58c, but core temps are closer to 47-53c full load.

Am I ok?

I still have one speed setting on my rear fan to go to if I need more cooling. I might just do it anyway.

Your thoughts?

id sugest geting better cooling with temps like that my own opty 165 idles at 35C and under full load touches 50C on occasions with an ambient of 21C with 1.5 volts runing through it at 3ghz. Though mine is an s939 part the am2 processors only difference as far as i can remember is the imc.

My temps are pretty close to yours, BIOS tells me I idle in the low 50s and my CoreTemps are at 42 and 45. I'm also running an X2 3800+ AM2 at 2.5GHz, on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe. On stock cooling. What's your voltage? Stock is 1.35V I think.

Core temp is how i measure my temps, its a good idea not to let core temp read over 55C My opty 165 sits at about 20C idle and about 40C max load. But your temps look like they are fine. FYI the 9500 is not the best cooler out there, i used to have one, very unhappy with it. Recommend thermalright 120 EXTREME
