Underscore key not working, Ubuntu 12.04

My underscore key isn't working. Neither is the Plus sign when typing with Shift key. I believe it was working until I updated the software, but I'm not sure which update messed me up. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

My best guess would be to try change your keyboard layout if you havnt already tryed this.
