Can not connect to cricket on Unbuntu 12.04

Hello, I'm Scott. I really have no experience with Linux. I purchased Ubuntu 11.04 and ran it live and it worked great. I want to do away with windows and was ready to install Ubuntu 11.04 then I started getting errors when I tried to boot. I thought that the disc might have gotten messed up or I had to update to 12.04, so I purchased Ubuntu 12.04. I ran 12.04 live. My problem is that everything works except my internet, I did the same thing that I did on 11.04 but I can not connect to cricket. cricket worked on 11.04, but when I tried on 12.04 I clicked on the the wedge on the toolbar and set up my cricket connection but I only hold a connection for about 13 seconds then I get disconnected, Firefox says server not found. I did the same thing that I did on 11.04 but I can not get connected on 12.04. I tried the searches but found nothing on the subject. I want Linux and this is the only thing holding me up, any help would be greatly appreciated.
