I have an HDTV with built in HD tuner, and recently signed on for Comcast
digital cable. The installer showed up when I was out, and the wife didn't
ask any questions or get any documentation from the installer. I'm
wondering if he brought the right receiver.
The HDTV has a Motorola DCT2524/1612 connected. There is no S-video or
component connection on the receiver, and no Dolby digital connection on the
box either. The installer connected a coax cable from the receiver to the
dvd player (which will have component connections connected to the tv).
Since I signed up for digital service, shouldn't there be component or at
least an S-video connection available? Or should it be coax to the dvd (as
he installed) then component from there to the tv?
On our other tv (an old set with only RF connection available), he brought a
Motorola DCT2224/1662/ACDEG. Not sure why he brought two different models
for the same service.
I'm thinking of getting the HD service soon anyway, which should require an
entirely new receiver (I think).
