More about vista install drivers
  1. Drivers normally are not required to install Vista. What else is installed in your system? Did you boot from a USB DVD-RW?
  2. graphics card, ram, dvd is sata too.

tells me it cant find the hard drive and to install a driver
  3. Is the HDD detected by the BIOS? Is it in the list of bootable devices?

Yes, it is listed incmos setup utility IDE Channel 0 Master and as a bootable device
  5. Then Vista should have no problems finding it, unless it's defective. What was installed on it before?
  6. nothing. brand new hhd
  7. Then there's something wrong with the hard drive, the SATA cable or a BIOS configuration.
