i just recently bought a laptop which uses vista home premium as its OS. i was downloading and installing windows updates stuff and now every time shut down and start up it has to go though some sort of configuration that takes couple of minutes. i was wondering if anyone else was having this problem and if they knew how to fix it? i want to add that i have restarted my comp at least 10 times and it still has to go through the configuration.

have you tried to let it finish before shutting down?
Its normal for updates to configure like that and must finish to be set up correctly.
