I just got my Comcast HD Box, i'm not very happy with it so far... drive is
extremely loud...
1. If i were to run an OTA coax to the back of my tv would it produce the
same quality as if I were to use my cable box using HDMI cable? (my tv has a
built in tunner)
2. Is there anyway to hide channels that you dont pay for?

There is a chance that an OTA digital signal will look better than that
provided by the cable company. It should not look any worse. It really
depends upon how the cable company rebroadcasts that signal. Hopefully,
they just send it along as is. I get many OTA digital channels and a couple
of these are carried by cable. I do not really notice a difference on my TV
when flipping between the same channel, but from different sources. In both
cases though, my TV tuner is taking care of both because I do not use an
external set top box.

There are 5 different TV tuner types:
Analog TV, HD-OTA, HD-QAM(cable), HD Satellite, & "Cable
Card"...
With that OTA HD Tuner... you need RG-6 antenna cable & a UHF
antenna...
