More Information

Rules:

Benchmark results must be in by Friday, June 8th by 12:00 Midnight Central Tme.

Any form of CPU/GPU (including memory)/Northbridge/RAM/Hard Drive/Power Supply cooling may be used.

No limit on overclock.

All system configurations must be posted. Provide links to the parts used if you can.
CPU (model, clock speed, voltage, idle and load temps if you've measured them)
Motherboard
GPU (model, clocks, and voltage (if possible. not sure if CCC reads/controls voltage, ATITool and TrayTools do)
RAM (clock speed, timing, and voltage)
Hard Drive setup (models, array type if applicable, total storage)
Chassis (including case, fans, and explain your cooling setup)
Power Supply
Operating System

Post a screenshot of your CPU-Z CPU and Memory tabs, validation is not required.

Any services or settings can be disabled as the user sees fit.

Any optimizations can be used, from disk defragmentation to optimization programs like TweakXP, provided you give a link to the program and give a list of all the tweaks you have active.

You may use modified driver sets such as Omega's Radeon drivers, provided you list them under your system configuration and provide a link to them. You may use your own custom modded drivers too, so long as you list the optimizations and how you made them.

Vista is not required, all tests may be done under either XP SP2 or Vista with the latest patches from Windows Update. No distinction between 32- or 64-bit architectures, provided you list what you use.

Benchmarks must be run three times each, then the average of all three runs will be calculated to get the final score for that test.

You may restart the machine in between tests, but not the runs themselves. Runs must be looped, after the other.

Stability is up to the contestant, the machine only has to be stable enough to complete all the benchmarks.

After each run, take a screenshot of the results. Post all three screenshots for all three runs for each benchmark.

Since Ninja and Proof both have C2Ds and SLI'd G80s, the competition will be between those parts. e.g. C2Ds against C2Ds, G80 against G80. A e4300 can compete with an X6800 since it is a C2D, and an 8600GT can compete with an 8800Ultra because it's a G80.

The benchmarks will be as follows:

**3DMark2001 - default settings
**3DMark2005 - default settings
**3DMark2006 - default settings
**PCMark05 - default settings
**CS:S Stress Test - 1280 x 1024, All settings on High, Water Detail set to Reflect World, Color Correction Enabled, 6x MSAA, 16x AF, HDR On, VSync On
**SuperPi - 1M and 32M tests
**HDTach - Quick Bench and Long Bench scores
**Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions Performance Test, DX9.0c - 1024 x 768, All settings maxed
**WinRAR - Benchmark, multi-thread enabled (assuming you have multi-core or Hyperthreading tech). Take a screenshot at exactly 00:1:00 (1 minute)

All of these are DX9.0c (or not DirectX at all >_> ) tests, so they will be done under XP or Vista w/DX9.

NOTE: For those who had trouble installing Lost Planet from the .exe package from FileFront or whatever, I got it to work by downloading and installing from Steam instead. Also downloaded faster >_>

If nobody has CS:S and doesn't wish to spend $20 on it just for the benchmark, I'll remove it from the list. All the rest are free, so those shouldn't be a problem.

This thread is for the competition only, there is a thread for discussion of the competition already. Here's the link to the discussion thread:

Discussion Thread

Post screenshots of all three results pages for all three runs of each benchmark. I'll total up the scores and calculate the winner. And remember: this is a benchmarking competition, not a Photoshop one.

This competition is open to anyone, but Proof and Ninja are the main combatants. Wait until they get their results in first, then you can post yours.
