Hi
I have just done a fresh install of XP home.
I have 2 hdd. Before I started new install I copied all needed programs onto the 2nd disk (which was laballed H: )
Once the new install was completed I tried to open my 2nd disk (now laballed D: ) to start installing my AV etc...

But it would not open and this message appeared.
windows cannot find
'RECYCLER\S-8-6-55-100014034-100001610-100019446-1090.com'
Make sure you typed the name correctly , and then try again.
To search for a file , click the start button and then click search.

I thought the reason it would not open was due to the letter being different so I changed it to H: but it still would not open.
I tried my C: drive and found that I got the same message.

I have done many installs with no problems. But now I am totally stumped/
i would be greatful for any Help.

Thanx

Right I have just done a new install and I can now access
the C: drive by clicking on it.
But I still get that message when I click on the 2nd Hdd.
After doing a bit of research it seems that the number is a
security identifier and that there is a recycler folder on each Hdd
for each user.
Not I'm not sure if I read it right as I'm far from an expert.
But could it be that it has been asigned a number but the file was
kept on the C: drive which was formatted and so lost.
I may be way of the mark here ,just trying to think of ideas.
Is it possible to create the file it's looking for.

Update
I have just found the Recycler folder(it was hidden).
In it there are 3Ms-Dos Apps and 3 files with simular
numbers to the one it's looking for (but not the same )
