Cant get vista to pick up my hp c3140 on network need drivers

i am kind of new to networking but finally got all media sharing and folder and drive but i cant get my vista laptop to hook up to my photosmart c3140 which is connected to my xp desktop, says i am missing some drivers but not sure what to do, can anyone help me out here i had it working before but cant remember how i did it.

goto the canon site and download vista drivers for your printer. and point windows to install those drivers when trying to connect to the printer
