Just built a new computer with all new parts. I used a Gigabyte EX58-UD4P motherboard. I loaded Windows XP Pro to start and that ran perfectly for the last few weeks. .

I finally received my copy of Vista 64 and did a clean install last night. Installed the drivers that came with the motherboard, and ethernet card showed ! and was non-functional. So I got on my other computer, downloaded the a newer driver from the gigabyte website, put it on the new computer and loaded it.

Device manager now shows the ethernet card is functioning properly. However... All I get is "Connecting to network... Limited connectivity... No connection..." Vista cant find my router. So I tried straight to the modem... Still can't find it.

Any ideas? Like I said before - the NIC on the mobo was working fine in XP Pro just 30 minutes before, and now it wont go at all.

Thanks.

check device properties, sounds like a setting is off. Did you try logging into the routher with the ip address?

check it out http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] ta-routers

When I went dual boot I had to flash Rom in Router to home brew DD-wrt, it solved all intermetant problems.

Does your ISP require a password or other setting that is required to connect?
