What is better for gaming and for benchmarking, Higher mhz/higher latencys or Lower latencys/lower mhz.

Here is the situation, I can run my ram at 4-4-3-5 2t @ 945mhz or I can go 5-5-5-18 2t @ 1124 mhz...so do I need to be with one or the other...or should I be trying to find a middle ground on it? And which would be better for gaming, and which would be better for benchmarking?

Everything I've ever seen says clock speed is more important than latency. Run them both and bench a game. I'd bet you won't see much of an improvement either way, RAM isn't much of a bottleneck. For my money, I'd use the higher clock speed though. As far as a blend, only clock down to tighten timings if you can tighten them a step without much of a clock decrease (say 4-4-4-12 1080MHz over 5-5-5-15 1124Mhz)
