hi..

i have an XP/XP dual boot configuration on my HD.. (labeled C: & E: )

i installed both instances of XP the simple way just using the XP disc (no 3rd party boot manger) and when i boot up it gives me the menu with the 2 OS's to choose from..

i want to clone these for easy restoration in the event of HD failure or an OS corruption..

i know i can just clone each partition individually but will this retain the dual boot menu once restored? i'm concerned that the partitions may not work together in a dual boot configuration if restored this way...

can you clone them individually then restore either one independent of the other and still have the dual boot configuration work ?

i could also get an identical HD and just clone the whole thing to it but i would prefer to do it to DVD it possible and just restore an individual OS as required...

any suggestions or experiences with this ?

thanks,

Shaun.
