Please help me to clear autocomplete in "search" microsoft xp

Please advise - whenever i go into search and type a letter, a box appears listing every search i have ever done beginning with that letter - i shut autocomplete off but is there any way to delete what i have already searched?

While in internet exploere,go to tools,then the general tab,then history,click clear history and set you days to keep to 0....and you should be good to go
