LIRC + USB Receiver

Just wondering if there is a list of supported USB IR Receivers somewhere, or someone can point me to one that will work.

I want to play around with LIRC and a remote to make sure it will work for exactly what I need it to do, before I go out and build an HTPC.

Will basically any and every receiver work? I dont want to run into driver/incompatibility problems.

I was using this one with Ubuntu and MythTV. I've since switched to Mint and have not installed it yet. I don't have much need for it right now.

LIRC certainly wasn't easy, at least not for me. One of these days I'll go for it again. Maybe it will be easier the second time around.
