I recently downloaded Solaris onto my portable hard drive. I was wondering if running this file on my xp computer will affect the current configuration of my computer. Help please.

Depends on what you mean by "running the file". If you mean simply creating a CD or DVD from the ISO file, then no, nothing will be affected. If you mean actually running the setup, then yes, your configuration will definately be altered.
