can't install xp pro to a sata drive it just doesn't show the drive please help

You will need to include the SATA drivers from your motherboard manufacturer during the installation.

Note the F6 prompt during setup whilst installing XP.

There are 2 ways to do this.

1. Download and save the drivers to floppy, during the installation when prompted with F6 use the floppy drive with drivers to continue the install.

2. Create a custom XP install disk with nLite to include your motherboard SATA drivers (slipstream).

The second option is my preference as you can include all drivers you will need to save doing the job later. i.e. Chipset and other motherboard drivers, service packs. You can also have nLite create the disk with your product key to save doing this during installation (unattended install).

There's plenty of information online if you decide to create your own cutom install XP disk with nLite.

btk1w1 is correct.
Xp doesnt include the drivers. but sp2 does so if slipstreaming include sp2 along with your other drivers.
