I am looking for feedback on Cingular in NJ? How is the coverage?
Strong signal, week signal. Please provide info both good and bad.

The reason is I can get a substancial discount on Cingular plans and
phones via my employer as they have a relationship with Cingular. I
had AT&T years ago and it was not so good. I can get a GSM phone at
cost + the plans are discounted about 25%.

I am currently on Verizon and it is good but is not cheap. I never
exceed my minutes and am paying 39.95/mo + taxes. I am off contract
and Verizon will not deal on discounts of any kind (no free phone, no
reduction in plan cost - NOTHING).

Thanks!

You can't generalize over an entire state -- you need to focus on the
particular areas you care most about.

I am in central NJ. About 25 miles outside of NYC. I got into the city
quite a bit so it would be good to have coverage in the city as well.
I had T-Mobile and they were the worst, I could not get a signal
anywhere. AT&T (TDMA) was not much better.

With Verizon I get a signal everywhere. Before I dump them I want to
know if Cingular is any better or worse.
