I have installed ubuntu (latest) on my desktop and I am trying to install the drivers for the sapphire vapor x 7970 ghz edition 3gb card that i have, I downloaded these drivers http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.42&lang=English and I get this error There was a problem opening the file /home/corvallis/.cache/.…lyst-12.10-x86.x86_64.run. The file you opened has some invalid characters. If you continue editing this file you could corrupt this document.
You can also choose another character encoding and try again.
Am I installing this wrong? Is there another set of drivers I should be installing? Am I installing the wrong drivers?
