don't get the ULTRA. Too much price and power compared to its performance( although it performs better than any card on the market)

yea dont get the ultra. The highest that I would get would be the 640mb GTS.

The GameXStream series PSUs aint that great. Try the Seasonic S12 E+, or the Corsair HX620. Silverstone and Thermaltake are also good.

Dont get ADATA ram. If you want basic ram (for everything but haevy OCing, get the Kingston Value Ram here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134046)
If you want to OC, the Corsair XMS2, and the Patriot Xtreme are quite good, also the Gskill ddr2800 cl4 kit.

Tell us what you want from the case, as well as what you want to do with the pc (oc?). the antec 900 is a very good case, but picking a case is very personal.

Check out some great deals in the link in my sig 8)

Yea don't get the ultra because it only gives you 10-15% more graphics power for $200 more. Your other component selection is perfect except for the ram. The Ballistix & Ballistix tracer DDR2 1066MHz are a better choice because there using one of the best D9 Micron IC's out there and for only $129.99 after mail-in rebate at NewEgg, I purchased myself. Another great ram from G.Skill (my second choice)F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ DDR2 800MHz are at the same price as the others. These two ram choice's are the most compatable ram out there for almost any motherboard. Good luck on you build!

And this choice of ram for extreme overclocking.

Don't get the Ultra. The performance does not justify the cost. Get an EVGA 8800 GTS 320 or 640 and enter the EVGA upgrade program. In three months, upgrade to the best card your current savings permit. Check the terms in EVGA's site.

Also you might want to get a P35 mobo, preferably a model with both DDR2 and DDR3 support. Gigabyte has one and it will be available in less than one week.

If you want top notch cooling, go for the thermalright ultra 120 extreme. The Zalman is good, has great looks, but is no match for the thermalright.

Last point. You might want to get an E4300 instead of the E6600 now and when intel cuts its prices in July, get a Quad core 6600 for the price you would pay today for the dual core. You could always sell the E4300 or build a second system.

I think that this way you will have much more performance and future proof/buck.

Good luck.

I would never, ever pay for an 8800Ultra. Definately not worth $300+ more than a GTX. The E6420 will be a better choice right now. The new E6600s are binned terribly. The E6X20s overclock incredibly well.

but arent you getting two XFX Ultra XXX Edtions?

And where did you get that info for the poor binning of recent 6600s?

Both of the E6600s I have tested in the past week which were purchased in the past week have been awful. And if you take a look around on other forums you will see the same thing happening to a fair amount of people.

No, I wish they were XFX XXX but they are just NVIDIA Ultras that MSI is sending me.

They both OC about the same but the E6320 has a lower multi which sort of limits the OC-ability. Most people use air (TR 120/TT/BT/ACF).

ok, so the best deal is the e6420?

How well do you think it will do with a high-end air cooler like the Noctua NH-U12F?

Also Proof, can you take some goddamn pics now that your system is done?

take like 25...

The Noctua is basically a TR 120. I would say a push-pull config on the Noctua would allow 3600MHz for benches. 3500MHz 24/7?

You looking to put a rig together? I have GTXs for like $500 each.

Please paste this in place of your current signature:

Dell XPS Generation 3
Intel Pentium 4 540
1GB PC2-4200
EVGA GeForce 7600GT
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
Western Digital Caviar 16MB 250GB
Dell 20" LCD

I will post pics of my test bench setup because I took shit out of my case for the contest and I will be using air cooling... The Cuplex top leaks so I am sending that b1tch back for a new one.

Well I wouldnt. The P965 DS3 has been out for a while. It has gone through several revisions and ten bios updates. These things helped iron out its problems. So now, the DS3 is a relatively problem-free board. The P35 on the other hand just came out. I believe you can finish the rest of my reasoning.

If you want more, look towards Nvidia's 650i SLI chipset.

The P35 chips have been tried, tested, and beaten up on and yet they are still pushing Quads to 450FSB. There is no better overclocking chipset available at the moment. The Intel chips are usually faster in benchmarks as well. I would absolutely get a P35 board.
