Hi community,

Just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on virtualbox for fun. As I am new to this operating system, I don't know much about it. Trying to change the resolution on display settings, but the max resolution for the choice it can choose is 1024 x 768. I want the resolution atleast 720p (1280 x 720). I already put the maximum amount of graphics memory allowed on virtualbox (128MB), and enabled 3D acceleration. What I can do to make the resolution bigger? Thanks guys.

Install the VirtualBox Guest Additions in your VM. (Check the manual if you don't know how to do this.)

Works perfectly. Can go up to resolution of 1600 x 1200. Good enough. Thanks for the answer.
